With a background in fine art, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to paint a series of watercolors for Wyndham. These paintings were leveraged into a design system and series of collateral for hotels all over the world.
The paintings evoke calmness with the etherial and ambient composition. While painting I considered color, texture, and the larger composition, knowing the shapes created in this phase would be extracted for collateral. When it came to digitizing the paintings, this method gave us unique and fluid options that never would have existed had we limited our canvas early on.
